A Field Trip

Last week Brode had his first field trip. His class, along with parents, went to the Farmers Market. We walked around and talked about the different vegetables and fruit. We tried some nuts, cactus pear, and ate a lot of watermelon and cantaloupe. Then Brode got to pick out one small pumpkin from the patch. He'll be decorating it this week in class. We had a good time.

Snack time. Eating a banana that we bought from one of
the farmers. Yum!

AUTUM

Man I love this season. This is the best time of year. The weather is so nice. Not too cold. Not to warm. We can open our windows at night and turn the air conditioner off. We can take walks with out drenching our clothing from sweat. And then there's the colors. Oh the fall colors. It is such a pretty time of year.

On Monday we took some family time to enjoy this wonderful weather and went to our Arboretum. It's this amazing garden. During this time of year they have pumpkins all over. Plus all the fall colors. It is quite amazingly beautiful. We had such a blast....

Our attempt at a "fall" picture of the boys. Not so successful.

I spy with my little eye, something in Graham's hand....
(Hint: in the past three photos)

Answer: a leaf.
Everywhere we go this child picks up leaves. Obsessed.
Peek-a-boo!
Love this photo of my boys!

At each of the pumpkin houses they had a story book at the
entrance, like above. A little story about the house.
Brode is "reading" the story to Graham.

At another Pumpkin House.

A Birthday

We celebrated Micah's 28th birthday this past weekend. We had some old friends come up and spend a few days in Dallas. They helped me make the weekend special for Micah. We went out to dinner, went to Top Golf and watched the two men act like little competitive boys. Needless to say I think Micah was celebrated quite well.

Dallas playing Top Golf

Micah's focusing quite hard. After all he is competing
against Dallas.
Katie and I played one round of Top Golf. Then we
sat back, relaxed and enjoyed watching our Husbands.
Thanks Dobbs Family for making it such a fun weekend!!!

A Farewell

Friday Night we got together with some friends to say farewell to a very special family. We have become quite fond of this family and are so sad to see them leave. We are so happy for their new adventure and new life in Houston, and are comforted in the idea that Houston is only a few hours away:)

There is no photo of them, but some cute pictures of my growing boys.

When I first saw this picture I saw myself in him.
What do ya'll think? Am I crazy??

This one too.
I tell my Mom constantly, that this lil dude is the funniest kid
EVER. I can't begin to describe this child to you.
Graham has the cutest personality. He is so silly and HAPPY
most of the time. And the rest of the time he is
unhappy to the EXTREME.

My 4 year old kid. In love with Batman and running fast.
He's discovered his imagination and is now sleeping
on the top bunk. He's says the funniest things.
Constantly gives kisses and hugs and says ever-so
sweetly, "I love you"! He's so full of love.

Bobby. He is the perfect age, right in between Brode
and Graham. He is their best friend. And it is Bobby
who is moving to Houston. Good bye friend.

This is Brode's first time roasting marshmallows.
How pathetic is it that he is four, making s'mores in the park
and not camping.

Delicious. He was hooked.
This really made me miss camping. We stayed at the park
after the sun went down. So all the kids ran around and
played in the dark. A little fire was going while everyone
gathered around to roast marshmallows. It was such a nice night.

Texas State Fair

We recently had a family night at the State Fair. The weather was so nice. It was the perfect night.
The petting zoo.

Brode felt it was his responsibility to feed all the animals.

While on the other hand, shooed the animals away
"Shoo, shoo. Get outta here!"

The Children's Animal Farm.

Brode's delivering feed for the pigs and cows.

Now he's planting some carrots.
(his favorite veggie)

Graham's first time on Carnival Rides.
