Mr. Soccer

Well this morning we took Brode to the first soccer practice with his YMCA "Small Fry" team. We had a ton of fun. We played by ourselves for about an hour after practice, and even then he did not want to leave! He is great at passing and not using his hands. He was a little confused (like the rest of the kids) during the scrimmage because "It's not my ball! I only want to kick MY ball!"

All in all we had so much fun! During snack-time after practice he said "I'm going to do a REALLY good job next week!" Can't wait!

Zoo

Last week we had a nice day, weather wise. The temperature was in the high 50's, which felt so amazing, the sun was shining and a light breeze. The play-group decided we needed to take advantage and we all headed to the zoo.

We carpooled with another Mom and her son. It was

a tight squeeze but the kids loved.

The Dallas Zoo has this nice children's park. So we ended

our visit at the park and had lunch.

Out of the Loop

I am so bad. I didn't realize I had already posted something about the snow. Guess that shows you how boring things have been. The most excitement we've had was the snow.

Catch Up

I'm going to catch up. I promise. Life has been.... ugh..... b.u.s.y. I can not believe it is almost March. 2010 is moving way too fast for my taste.

Dallas Snow. Really??? I know. Didn't expect this. Thankfully there weren't too many accidents. Although, it snowed so much and it was so cold outside, that the combo caused power to go out in most of our neighborhood. It effected my restaurant. At work, on a slow night (because no one wants drive when it has snowed here, because no one knows how to drive) at about 8pm the power went out. Crazy. Try running credit cards by candle light the old way. Not fun! This is after over half the restaurants guests ran out the front door, leaving perfectly good food and drink unpaid. Terrible. We got the power back by the next morning. But then that Friday night, during the BIGGEST weekend of the restaurants life, the power goes out again. Only this time we had a police officer there, to guard the door, just in case.

Not even a week ago, it snowed in this city.

This city could not handle it. They closed schools, roads and the

power went out everywhere.

Today it is warm, the sun is shinning, it is

absolutely BeAuTiFuL. So crazy. I much prefer today's weather.

Our family pictures were taken back in November. Can't believe it has taken me this long to post them. Anywho, a woman in our Ward offered to take photos for us. Man, trying to get two full of energy boys to sit still, look at the camera and smile was so hard. But she did well and we think we got some great photos. Enjoy!

sick leave

I know - I know. It has been awhile. The past two weeks seem like such a blur. The nastiest cold's infected us all. Starting with Brode. Then Graham, Me and finally Daddy. Micah and I are still trying to get rid of it. It really is terrible when the "mom" gets sick. The laundry piles up. There's never any food in the house. Everything seems to be chaotic. On top of it all the weather has been just nasty. Which caused some serious "cabin fever".

Much thanks to Micah for taking care of us all. He let me get extra sleep so I wouldn't be a zombie at work. And entertained the boys when they were dying to get out of the house.

We survived. Laundry's done. House is stocked with food. All is well. Hopefully the weather will get nice soon for trips to the park!
