Boise Trip 2010: Part Two

We ended our trip with the Kormylo's. On Monday we gathered to Cassie's house to make a traditional Kormylo Family Dinner. Pierogies. It's Ukrainian dish - potato, cheese, dry-curd cottage cheese, all stuffed in a dough, boiled then fried for extra crispiness. Served with salt pork and onions, and a bit of sour cream on the side. Delicious!

Master Hands at work with the velvety dough!

Little worker bees folding the dough over just right.
This takes patience and skill, which Sadie and Abby (our nieces) learned was
necessary.

Tiny fingers at work. Sweat Shop? Nah!

Meanwhile, the younger bunch played with trains.
Graham was with Grandma Jean trying to sleep off
a nasty stomach bug.

Dinner preparations take a very long time when making Pierogies. Lots of fun though, and well worth the work!

Later all The Kormylos gathered at Jean and Phil's home to feast, open presents, beat each other up and enjoy one another's company.
All grandchildren gathered to enjoy this Ukranian dinner.

Then it was gifting time.

Then beating one another up time.

Again, beating each other up.
It's not a Kormylo gathering where the men test their
"manliness" or strength against one another
in a game of Bloody Knuckles or Slaps.

Monday was our last evening in Boise. Which meant for a long night of packing after everyone left. Brode was very anxious to get home. He packed himself up.

Layover again in Salt Lake.
Luckily it wasn't too long. But the boys were very anxious.

Still watching for our airplane.

Our trip to Boise was quiet successful. We got to see all of our family and some friends. We are so blessed with the family that we have. They take such great care of us. We love them and really do miss them. Hopefully we'll move back to Boise someday....
