We went to the Texas State Fair with our friends, the Asays, and their little boy. They showed us around and showed us where all the good stuff was. It was so much fun! We all had a blast. And the Texas Fair is SOOOOO nice. Comparing the Texas State Fair to the Western Idaho Fair is like comparing a four-star restaurant to McDonald's. It's very clean and spacious, and lasts three weeks. It is capped, of course, by the "Red River Rivalry," which is the annual football game between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns. They play at the Cotton Bowl, which is right in the middle of the fairgrounds. Fun stuff.

Look at Graham's face. He just loves animals so much.
The State Fair has the most interesting "petting zoo".
Goats. Cows. Kangaroo's. Sheep. Zebra's. Ostrich.
Seriously interesting!

The boys were feeding the goats.

Ben introduced Micah to his first Smoked Turkey Leg.
As you can imagine, Micah was in heaven.

Yes, heaven.

This is Big Tex.

Brode's First Roller Coaster.
Micah had to take him because he was just 2 inches under
the minimum height that he had to be to go by himself.
And get this, we had to pay for Micah too. Ridiculous!

"Grandpa's Airplane!"
Brode was so excited to ride the airplane, just like
his Grandpa's. And on this ride he could go by himself, which he did.

Again, too short to go by himself.
When Micah and Brode got to the top Brode was so
ready to go. Micah had to grab him and hold him so he
wouldn't take off. That boy was fearless!
